Hi everyone! My name is Liam and I am looking for my forever home through MOKAN Border Collie Rescue. I admit that I am not a full border collie, but I have the heart of one! And even I admit that I am pretty darn cute with my brown legs and white paws.

I am only 10 months old and weigh about 30 pounds. I don’t think I will get much taller but need to gain a little more weight. Since I am a puppy, I still have a lot to learn. I am learning my name and remember to sit when told (especially when I am waiting for food or getting ready to go outside”. I have more trouble with “off” as I just get so darned excited at times. At first I didn’t want to go to my crate with my foster parent’s left, but soon realized it wasn’t so bad and that I also get a treat for being such a good boy. I am proud of myself as I stay quiet in my crate all night long, knowing my foster parents will let me out as soon as the household wakes up. I would prefer to sleep on the bed with someone, but my crate is warm and comfortable as well.

I haven’t had any accidents in the house in a very long time although I still need to be better at letting people know when I need to go out, so it is good that they take me outside a lot. I really love playing with other dogs.

I try to play with my foster sister, but she is pretty old and can’t really play very well anymore. And the cat, well, she doesn’t want to play with me at all even though I have been very good with her! I love it when my family takes me to the unleash dog park as I get to run and play a lot and my foster family likes it because it keeps me much calmer at home! I love to ride in the car or my foster dad’s truck. At home, one of my favorite activities, besides playing with my toys, is to look out the big front window to see what’s happening outside.

My foster family is trying to get me to be better on a leash. Again, I am trying but I just keep getting so excited when I get to go for a walk that I forget! But I love walks because I get to greet other people and get some extra loving. Who wouldn’t like that! I think I would do best in a home with at least one other dog, if not more. Or at least a busy household. Although I love to snuggle on laps, I wouldn’t be good as a lap dog only. I would love a family that likes to play and be outside. And I need a family that will continue to work with me on my manners and that would maybe take me to an obedience class.
