Phantom was an unclaimed stray in a Texas shelter before joining MOKAN.  He is approximately 15-18 months old and 38 lbs.  This boy loves everyone-people, dogs, and even cats.  The cats think he loves them too much though!  If he were to live with cats they would need to be dog savvy and he would need continued training on leaving them alone.

Phantom currently has 3 foster brothers that he gets along with and would play with if they are interested but is happy to do his own thing if they don’t.  He loves hanging out on the couch and snuggling or chewing a nylabone or sometimes tossing a stuffed toy around.  He has a medium energy level and would definitely be up for adventure but is also willing to Netflix and chill!

He rides well in a car crated or tethered.  He is crate trained even though sometimes he would rather not go in.  He barked some in his crate when he arrived in foster care but this is getting to be only occasionally when he is missing out on something fun.  He sleeps perfectly quietly all night in his crate and is happy to stay there while we are at work. He is house broken but may try and mark when somewhere new.  However his recent neuter may help with that.

Phantom knows how to sit and is slowly starting to learn other things.  He does fair on a leash until he sees something he’s interested in and then he is very distracted and pulls.  He will very much benefit from an obedience class and someone that wants to build a bond with him.    Phantom will still gently chew your hand or arm like a puppy and nip your feet like a typical herding dog so he would not be suitable for children under 10 years old.  This guy is really ready to be your new best friend and with a little work will be a really wonderful dog for companionship, adventure or possibly sports!

Phantom is being fostered in the Springfield, MO area.
