Success Stories

We are very pleased to share the story of our dog’s forever home and to know that we helped guide these dogs into a bright future. Each and every creature deserves to be appreciated and loved. That is what rescue work is all about.

We LOVE photos of how our Mo-Kan Alumni are doing!  Please send us photos and a short update on how you are all doing!
Please include when adopted and if they were listed under a former name.

Ace (2023)

Ace (Adopted 11/2023)

Ace, who is now Walter, said a “thanks” around Thanksgiving this year.  He was adopted into a family with 4 other BC's and the third MO-Kan adoptee (Wyatt & Annie) over many years.

Foster mom had wished for specific boxes to be filled by a potential owner but maybe this was hoping for too much.  Every wish came through!  There was willingness to take on the last phase of heartworm care.   Obedience and pet therapy training was in their past. Owning Annie, who could be Ace’s best friend, was perfect. Most of all they fell in love at first sight for a dog that will be having a much better Christmas than previous year as an abandoned pet with 40 other animals.

Avery

Avery (Adopted 4/2023)

Avery was affectionately labeled the runt when she was born 7th in line of her litter of 9, weighing over 4 ounces less than her largest sibling. Within three days, Avery significantly declined and a great deal of effort was needed to help her pull through. Thankfully, Little Miss Avery eventually began to prosper and it became impossible not to see how very special she was. Her mighty demeanor and sweetest-ever personality provided a 99.9% chance of total foster fail likelihood as the weeks went by.

But then, as her foster mom says, "Completely unexpectedly, in the middle of March Madness, Avery's forever family appeared." It was very apparent from the first conversation and subsequent meet & greet whose family Avery was meant to join.

Avery (whose name remains the same) is now absolutely thriving! She lives with her amazing daddy's who love her so much, and she tugs at the heart strings of all her extended family members and friends. She is still small in stature but happy, healthy, and full of energy as she grows. She enjoys going for walks and is having a blast learning about being a friend to squirrels and geese. This sweet girl is clearly living her best life with an incredibly happy future ahead!

Much love to you, our very special little runt.
