Shane is an approximately 3.5 months-old handsome, happy-go-lucky boy who loves everyone!  He is full of puppy energy one minute, and the next minute he thinks it’s easier to eat his dinner laying down (see picture).  Shane plays very well with his foster dog siblings inside the house and out in the yard, but he is also perfectly content to grab a toy or chew bone and entertain himself.  He is super sweet & cuddly and is happiest when he’s near his foster mom or foster brother.

Shane believes his foster kitty cats like him much more than they actually do, but that’s probably because he plays a little too puppy-rough for their liking.  He is never aggressive or mean, and whenever he is reminded to stop bothering the kitty cats, he immediately listens.

Shane walks very nicely on a leash and does great during car rides for visits to Lowe’s & Home Depot. He is working on basic commands and has finally (almost) perfected ‘sit’…while still not really agreeing with the need to ‘wait’ before being told ‘free’ for his food.  His house training is also a work-in-progress with only a minor piddle accident from time to time.  Shane is not fully crate trained…as he is very vocal in the most recent week or two…though he does settle down eventually when the humans don’t give into him.  But Shane is a very smart boy who just needs a little more time and continued effort from his forever family to help him reach his potential in all areas of being a good boy.

His ‘floofy’ ears and funny personality really make Shane hard to resist…as he joyfully bee-bop’s up & down the stairs, onto couches & chairs, and leaps right into your lap with a silly smile.  If you think your family is the one waiting for this special little boy, Shane would love to meet you!

Shane is being fostered in the St. Louis area and will be available for adoption the end of March.
